Tonight Texas killed Denard Mann.  From local media: After saying he was ?ready for the transition,? Twice-convicted robber Denard Manns, 42, was executed Thursday evening in Huntsville for the robbery, rape and murder of a Fort Hood medic who was killed in her apartment near post. Manns was executed almost 10 years to the day after the Nov. 18, 1998 killing. Before he received the lethal injection, he criticized his trial attorneys by name for what he said was an unfair trial, criticized an appeals attorney for ?purposely bringing up claims that did not exist,? and thanked a third lawyer for taking on his appeal after he was supposed to have been off the case.
