: CalBizLitOff-Topic Post -- Veterans Day
By Bruce Nye
My father, John Nye, his brother, Don Nye, and my father-in-law,Sam Elkind, all helped save our world in the early nineteen-forties, and are now all gone. My dad's brother, Frank Nye, died on the Arizona sixty-seven years ago next month.
I grew up in the tumultuous Vietnam War era, and never served. Nor, in my lifetime, have I known a war that was quite so free of controversy as World War II. But I have nothing but admiration for all of our veterans who served at any time.
Seems like a good day to remember them.
