: Peanut Butter BurritoDaycare Lunches?
By Andrea
Parent readers, please comment!
Becca is finally eating a couple things other than baby cereal, baby food, and yogurt, although that's still almost her whole diet since she refuses to sprout top teeth and so still can't rip or chew too much. She can eat soft, lumpy stuff, though, and we're slowly working them into her meals, like really soft, cut-up spaghetti, soft rice, scrambled egg, canned fruit slices, and I'm trying her on some pinto beans tonight.
She only eats jarred organic baby food and cereal at daycare, though, because it's our job to supply her lunches and that's been very easy for us and the daycare lady. But what do I do going forward? What should I send along/how should I package baby lunches that are more "big girl' than jarred food, and won't require them to cook stuff? I'm sure you all have answers, so please dump your wisdom here.
Edit: Beans were a huge success, especially the way she ate them, which I was worried about because she doesn't have a pincer grip (thumb and forefinger) worked out yet. No problem: she grabbed it with her whole hand, smushed it in her fist, stuck all her fingers in her mouth at once, and pulled them out with the bean left inside. That's my baby.
