"Barack Obama's Drug Dealer"

ADVERTISEMENTS
Oh Boy.

In a public letter to the New York Times, Cindy McCain's lawyer notes that its coverage has been uneven, as it publishes hit pieces on Cindy McCain but has "not tried to find Barack Obama's drug dealer that he wrote about in his book, Dreams of My Father."

This comment isn't meant just to make an argument about media bias. It's to conjure up not just the thought of Obama doing drugs, but the shady act of purchasing drugs from a drug dealer.

I can think of a few equivilent Obama lines against McCain. Where is the Fox News investigation into all the women McCain cheated on his first wife with? Can any of them shed light on McCain's biography for us?

And where is the WSJ editorial about the people who were at the Keating 5 meeting with McCain? Shouldn't someone be doing a "Where are they now?" retrospective since it's been like 20 years?

I'm not saying calling for the identity or recent biographical info on Obama's drug dealer won't be effective. I am saying, however, that playing with fire will often get you burned.

Also, stay classy John Dowd/McCain campaign.
