: ClassLawBlog.comCase Filed Against Continental Airlines for Refusing to Refund Fuel Surcharges
By classlawblog
According to Courthouse News Service, a class action complaint was recently filed against Continental Airlines, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas on behalf of consumers who purchased tickets for airline travel from Continental Airlines, were charged so-called “fuel surcharges” and/or taxes as part of the airline ticket purchase, and were unable to travel but were not refunded the fuel surcharges and/or taxes.
The complaint alleges that by not issuing a refund to the plaintiffs for the fuel surcharges and/or taxes, Continental’s conduct constitutes conversion and unjust enrichment. The plaintiffs claim they incurred monetary damages in the amount of the money not refunded, plus interests, costs and attorneys’ fees.
