To Peep or not to Peep

ADVERTISEMENTS

So there are some real things* happening in my life, but instead, I will blog about something important: Peeps.  You may have noticed that people either love or hate Marshmallow Peeps, and that it is not uncommon for a Peep-lover and a Peep-loather to meet, fall in love, marry, and bear offspring.  Did you ever wonder about the transmission of Peep affection over generations?  Is it genetics?  Epigenetics?  Modeling?  Who knows if the children of such a union will devour marshamallow chicks and bunnies each easter, head first, like their Peep-loving parent, or if they will instead turn to the Cadbury eggs?  It keeps me up at night.

As a Peep-lover who married a Peep loather, I have to confess to you that this was not a scientific, double-blind (taste) test.  I simply gave my child a Peep (pumpkin shaped) after a healthy dinner of Round Table Pepperoni and Mushroom Pizza (it was one of those days when I gave up trying to be a Good Mom? altogether - fed her pizza, read a book while she played, that sort of thing) and watched what happened.  I am still not entirely sure of the results - judge for yourself.

*Minor car accident, major tax bill, depositions with a rapist and a child molester (with one day off in between) various and sundry motions practice, suits against massive organizations which I can't talk about, a small (but satisfactory) settlement in a sex abuse case, and now a cold.  Yeah.  Good times.  Oh, and a civil sex abuse trial next week in a not-quite-neighboring-county-but-at-least-it's-on-the-coast to get ready for.
