(Re)meme(ber) Music - the letter ?S?

Was thinking maybe I’d start a new Meme this week. But, what to do? - a Meme of your top 5 favourite internet memes perhaps? Favourite Todd Rundgren songs? (realised I’d be only person doing this one) … anyway, eventually decided on … drum roll please … Top 5 favourite songs by bands beginning with the letter S ( thought about V, but how many Vixen and Vapours songs can one person really name) Here are my 5 - of course by the time you read this my top 5 would probably be something totally different as I remember that I have missed out Santana, The Soft Boys, The Sisters of Mercy, the Scorpions and others … actually, just as I am posting this I realise no Sex Pistols!? Oh my god, how did I do that?

1. The Small Faces - Tin Soldier: What a band. Choose this to allow another mention of Todd Rundgren, who did a good cover of this track.
2. The Smiths - There is a Light That Never Goes Out: Just a wonderfully paced track musically and lyrically
3. Sonic Youth - Drunken Butterfly: Turn up to 11 kind of song. Louder it’s played the better.
4. Squeeze - Labelled With Love: How do you pick just one Squeeze track? Hard. Many favourites, but I’ll choose this one, as I was given it as a present by the girl I was going out with at the time, at Ercall Wood School, Wellington, Telford??(Marie Cadwallader). It is, also, a quite brilliant song
5. Supergroove - Scorpio Girls: a wonderful slice or rap/rock from the now re-formed New Zealand greats, and an old favouriteof mine for turning up loud and jumping around my room with my guitar strapped on.
