: Legally Blonde AmbitionAnd These Are A Few of My Favorite Things....

ADVERTISEMENTS
Well y'all. Lets face it. The economy is in the tank. The weather (at least here in lovely Chicago) has been a big downer. The debates are either stomach-acid or blood pressure inducing, yet the election just isn't here yet. We need some cheer. Some sass. Some pre-holiday excitement, instead of the "Oh my goodness how am I going to afford gifts & parties & a new fabulous winter coat this year?" Maybe the fabulous winter coat part is just me. Maybe not. But instead, I'm going to share some things, all in the "$50 or less" category that I would highly suggest as either a gift for a friend or loved one, or, ahem, a gift for yourself. Because, ladies & gents, you deserve it. We all do. So I'm going to share a few things and the y'all can do the same. Think of it as retail therapy for your soul. Erm. Yes. It is the least I can do until the Red Cups at Starbucks arrive (cheer in every hand!) and the holiday lights come out. Because I'm a sucker for holiday lights. Bliss Facewash- Happiness & Clear Skin in a Bottle $28. Pricey for a facewash? Yes. Worth every penny? Yes. And- the bottle lasts longer than anything you buy at the drug store. This particular facewash is creamy & smooth, it smells good and it somehow manages to exfoliate & clear up my skin without anything harsh or gritty. I like to just put some on in the shower, do my thing & rinse it off..... and it leaves me with baby soft, clear skin.

Cashmere Gloves From Nordstroms - $48. Yeah, ok, cashmere gloves might be extravagant, but they are way cheaper than an extravagant cashmere sweater and it just might make a chilly morning of dog walking a little easier on your soul.
The Wreaths on Williams Somona. Ok, this bay leaf wreath (which incidentally, these smell divine) is only $28, and they have an entire collection of gorgeous wreaths that might put that extra smile on your face as you unlock your front door to come home and cook dinner/study/fall into bed exhausted.

Anything from this website: http://www.sommerdesigns.com/collection.htm This is where I ordered Lanny a baby gift, and where I constantly go to drool over everything- the aprons (I covet a full length apron, I'll admit it. Red damask. Its cool.) the lavender satchels, the wine bags. I want it all!! And it is handmade & comes divinely gift-wrapped. I hope. Lanny??
And for the gentlemen in your life, might I suggest a crawfish polo from Perlis (a mere $45 investment!) or maybe a gift certificate to nhl.com where they can buy a new hat or shirt for their favorite hockey team? Because it is a smidge bit cheery that hockey is here..... Unless of course you are Grace, who weirdly finds hockey to be a snooze fest. What she prefers I haven't a clue. NBC's Wipeout? Perhaps some scintillating billiards? The world will always wonder.
So. What about you? What things, under $50, would you either rush out and buy yourself or send to another during these dreary days??
