Job Title: Patent Engineer/Agent

Position Summary: As a Patent Engineer at Adobe, you will focus on supporting Adobe?s strategic patent portfolio development by driving and coordinating invention harvesting, evaluation, and review of cutting edge innovation.

Responsibilities: Working in the Patent Practice Group (PPG) with internal patent attorneys, you will assist in the promotion of patent activities including technology review and collaboration within Adobe. Specific duties will include: harvesting of invention disclosures from engineers, evaluating inventions for patentability, facilitating internal review of invention disclosures including the follow-up and gathering of additional information, providing educational presentations, overseeing the preparation and review of defensive publication articles, assisting PPG leads in patent application preparation and prosecution, and reviewing technical standards for determination of potential encumbrances on Adobe?s patent portfolio.

Technical Knowledge Areas: Ability to quickly comprehend and explain aspects of software in the areas of, for example, dynamic media, digital imaging, video, photography, audio, animation, illustration, publishing, collaboration, rich internet applications and infrastructure, communication protocols, as well as document generation, processing, distribution, and security.

Key Skills/Talents/Strengths: Minimum experience level is 3-5 years+.  Interest in patents and innovation; self-motivated; be an excellent communicator, listener and team player; technologically savvy; quick to learn and adjust to changes; take and implement direction well; possess detailed project management and organizational skills to meet stretch goals and deadlines; have a penchant for prompt responsiveness and work well under pressure; be reliable, resourceful, friendly, and have a sense of humor.

Education: Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required, MA or PhD desirable
