: Law Practice ManagementFinally — Smoke Free Workplaces in PA
It’s about time the smoke free workplace became mandatory in PA. Is your office ready? The new law became effective September 11, 2008 and requires that you
1) provide a smoke free workplace, except for a few narrow exceptions; and
2) post No Smoking signs in the workplace.
No smoking signs can be downloaded through the Department of Health Web site, or purchased online.
You must also post “Smoking Permitted” signs prominently at every entrance to a public place where smoking is permitted under the Act. Fines for non-compliance with the Act can be as high as $1,000.
Get guidance and a free downloadable Business Owner’s Clean Indoor Air Compliance Toolkit from the Department of Health Web site.
