So in my continuing saga of aches & pains, it is worth mentioning I've always had lower back... discomfort? Not so much pain, it is certainly always there, a tension or discomfort, always feeling like one good crack or massage might put it back in place. It isn't something I've really worried about, although I often say "I really should see a chiropractor/masseuse". But in all actuality, it is what it is. I wear heels, carry heavy bags, walk city blocks, sit in a chair for most of the day, and am often hunched up, reading or researching. I mean, this back thing, it had some very plausible explanations. Fast forward to last night, where I'm busy going through paperwork, organizing bills, throwing out papers regarding my old health insurance when I stumble across a packet of medical records from my awesome-stomach-disaster last fall. During the "disaster" I had a abdominal & pelvic CT scan, so I perused the report, giggling about how really all I do all day is read/analyze/scrutinize medical records- sort of funny to be doing it for myself.
And then I came across something. At the bottom of the radiological report a bunch of really odd words. Now I basically deal with disease, anatomy, and medical terminology all day every day and I was stumped. So I turned to Dr. Google. And what did I find? No big thing.
JUST THAT MY SPINE IS BROKEN.
Oh and it was broken twice. One break healed & one break didn't and oh, guess what? The one that healed did so improperly and formed a false joint. And! I have a slipped vertebrae. 45% slipped to be exact.
So then for the rest of the night, I would be going about my business, notice the familiar twinge in my back and then continue to go about my business until it hit me. MY SPINE! IT IS BROKEN! OH YEAH! BROKEN SPINE! And then I'd go about some more until whammo, again BROKEN SPINE DAISY!
And dude. When were those doctors going to inform me of my spine issue? Specifically that my L5 is all jacked up?
But then when BISMOW and I were cleaning up I made him do all the heavy stuff because DUDE! MY SPINE IS BROKEN!
