Grace

ADVERTISEMENTS
Who knew that wedding etiquette was such a hot topic? As such, maybe next Monday I'll take another informal poll. We can discuss wedding showers (who really can make that invite list?) or registries or the dreaded lack-of-a-thank-you-note. Or...gasp...theme weddings.

But in other awesome news, Grace, from Law with Grace, and myself decided to interview each other & post the respective Q & A on our blogs. Because we recognize it has been a tad bit boring up in these pages, and we figured why not spice it up a little? So get to know Grace and then head over to her page to learn a little about me, including my thoughts on cannibalism,
elementary school bullies and what my dream restaurant would be.
1. When & why did you start blogging?

I started blogging in August of 2006, the summer before my last year of law school.  I started blogging because I knew for a fact that I was infinitely more interesting and humorous than anyone else and I thought that people would be dying to know every detail of my incredibly exciting life.  No. That's not true.  Actually, I started a blog one day because I was sad.  And I needed to feel better.  And I thought writing would help.  I was right.  But not in the way I thought it would help.

2. What is the first blog you read?

Clublife, by Rob the Bouncer at www.standingonthebox.blogspot.com.  I have a blogger-crush on him.  He's a bouncer in NYC, and an insanely good writer.  I spent an entire afternoon on my couch pouring through his archives, and from then on a new post from him was usually a sign that the day was not going to suck ass.

3. What did you want to be when you grew up, circa 5th grade?

Hope Williams from Days of Our Lives, or a spy.
4. If you could be anything in the whole world other than a lawyer, what would you be?

CIA Agent or Ethel Merman

5. What are you the most scared of, besides that horrific spider hanging out at your house?

My mom dying.  Or getting Lou Gehrig's Disease

6. What was your favorite & least favorite class in law school?

Favorite:  Criminal Litigation Strategy
Least Favorite:  Wills & Trusts

7. Elementary school: brown bag lunch or school lunch?

School Lunch

8. High School: talented & gifted or behind the gym smoking cigarettes?

Wildly talented and gifted, while smoking behind the theatre.  (I went to a school for the gifted and talented, and we had no gym)

9. Where was your first kiss?

First kiss was in a theatre.  With a guy who is now living his life as a woman.

10. Describe the worst prom/homecoming dress you ever wore.

Giggle giggle.  Black off the shoulder satin, T-length.  With a HUGE sideways hot pink bow covered in rhinestones.  Sophomore homecoming.

11. You are stranded on a deserted island. You choose the continuous buffet of:
sushi- mexican food- pasta- booze (pick one)

Booze.  It's the only option that makes me smarter, funnier and more attractive.  Those are all very important qualities when stranded on a desert island.

12.  Did you want a pony when you were growing up?

No.  I wanted a kitten.  And then my parents FINALLY got me one when I was twelve.  We got it from the shelter, and it was feral.  We brought it home, and I never saw it again.  It HATED me.  Fucking asshole cat.

13. If you could pick $1000 sheets or a fancy flat screen tv (pretend they are equal in value) which would you pick?

Flat Screen.  The dogs favorite thing to do is jump on my bed after she's been walked in the rain.  Maybe after I sell the dog for glue, I'll change my answer.

14. Twins with rhyming names: cute or vomit inducing?

Vomit vomit vomit.  And one of them is destined to be a slut.

15. If you could wear any designer, head to toe for the rest of your life, who would you pick?

Chanel.

16. New York or London? Why?

Ok.  I have rewritten this answer about 30 times.  New York.  Because of the food and the theatre.  Ok.  that's my final answer.

17. Do you get pedicures or do you hate other people touching your feet?

I love pedicures.  I was recently told that I have very sexy feet.

18. What is the worst thing you have ever gone to an emergency room for?

I was the victim of a violent crime a couple of years ago.  I went there then.  That was the worst.

19. Have you ever gone on a blind date?

Yes!! They've always sucked!!!

20. What is your favorite charity & why?

I don't want to list the ones that I'm personally involved in, because I like the whole anonymous thing, but arts education programs for children and teenagers is of extraordinary importance.  I give them many of my few dollars.

21. Gmail chat or IM?

IM and I wish you agreed with me.

22. If you could re-live any year of life, which one would you pick?

Hmmm... That's a tough question.  I would pick 1995 to re-live because it was such a kickass year.  I would pick 2006 to re-live and do over.

23. High heels or flats?

Heels.  Even though they make me 6 feet tall, and my mother says that's too tall and might intimidate men.  They make my legs look insanely hot.

24. Nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?

That's rough.  People have done some very nice things for me.  Someone bought me my lovely asshole dog.  Someone else offered to let me move in with her when it seemed like I might have been homeless.  Someone else always removed the lemon slice from the side of my glass of diet coke because she knew how much I hated it.  Someone else let me in front of them in the grocery store line.  Kindnesses are too hard to rank.

25. If you had $1,000,000 but you had to spend it on other people, who would you spend it on and why?

I would spend a shit-ton of it on my mom, and let her travel around the world with whomever she wants.  (and if that includes me, well, it's still what SHE wants),  I think I'd definitely pay off law school loans for some of my friends.  And I'd start a foundation for arts education. And I'd be the most KICK ASS foster parent in the history of life.
