Shut up. I could totally win an Oscar. I was an amazing actress in elemetary school. I even played Clara in the school production of the Nutcracker. Which was awesome until my gorgeous white linen nightgown & robe that I had to wear (cause Clara was supposed to be in bed when the Nutcracker came alive) turned sort of see through when the stage lights shone on me. But thats a story for another day. Yeah.
So I was awarded a Kickass Blogger award not once, not twice, but three times around- and by three of my favorite bloggers. Which kind of sucks because it makes it really hard to award it back to them. Sort of like re-gifting, you know?
Now this award comes with some rules (see below) and one of them is to pass the award along to five bloggers. I would like to first pick the three who gave it to me, but alas, I think that is not allowed, so instead, I shall pick five other bloggers. Muahahaha.
Anonymous Hottie of Murphy's Law: AH kicks ass for a variety of reasons, but first and foremost becuase she trained her ass off (literally!) and is going to run a marathon so. And you have to majorly respect that. And her dog is my adorable puppy-nephew (I'm his Auntie Daisy) and if it were not for him, the first year of law school would have been that much bleaker.
Grace of Law With Grace: Grace is awesome and if you dare question this, please see the interview I hosted with her earlier this wee
k. (Can one host an interview? Does that make it like a cocktail party? Speaking of, I think I'd like to host a cocktail party soon. Grace, will you come to my party? Please?)
Harmless Error of the same: Harmless, just like AH is also gearing up to run a marathon. And if you haven't caught on, I'm very proud of all these people who get off their couch & actually do something with their evenings. Or mornings. Or Sunday's. Or whenever they find time in their hectic lives to jog a few miles or 20.
The Artful Blogger of Artfully Blogging: AB is just the best friend anyone could ask for. He is loyal, genuine & always up for a fun evening of fine dining or grilling hamburgers & playing Guitar Hero. Which, incidentally he is quite good at. And he acted surprised when we threw him a surprise birthday party, so he's even a good sport with all of his crazy friend. And (yes, there is more!) he told me I was his Secret Keeper which in Harry Potter-speak means we are pretty good friends. At least that is what I think it means....
April from Legally (Ir)Relevant: April is new to blogging but she has been a great reader thus far & picked the September Book of the Month, Soon I Will Be Invincible, which I thoroughly enjoyed. (At least I think this is the same April? I hope it is! Yikes.) So head over & wish her a warm welcome to the blog-o-sphere.
Kickass Blogger Award Rules:
1. Choose 5 bloggers that you feel are ?Kick Ass Bloggers?
2. Let ?em know in your post or via email, twitter or blog comments that they?ve received an award
3. Share the love and link back to both the person who awarded you and back to Mamma Dawg
4. Hop on back to the Kick Ass Blogger Club HQ to sign Mr. Linky then pass it on!
And then, because Katie was feeling particularly generous she also bestowed two more awards
on me with more rules. So many rules. Good thing I'm a lawyer and I live for rules. Following them, creating them, abiding by them. Erm. Yes. Thank you Katie.
Now I am going to sort of fudge one rule (oh the irony...) and only give this award to one blogger (because dude, my "linking" finger is getting tired) so they go to Lanny, the proud Mama of two beautiful girls. Congrats on your newest addition to the family!! Lanny always seems upbeat, even during sad times (of which her family has had more than enough) and I think her yelling at the alarm system in her house qualifies for for characteristic # 3. And she's just been a great supporter of me during all my tough times, i.e. studying for the bar exam. (And I can't get both of the award images to work, so um, here is the one........)
Now, the characteristics for the Smile Award are: 1. Must display a cheerful attitude. 2. Must love one another. 3. Must make mistakes. 4. Must learn from others. 5. Must be a positive contributor to blog world. 6. Must love life. 7. Must love kids.
There are rules attached... Here are they are: 1. The recipient must link back to the awards creator (The Babblings of Mere). 2. You must post these rules if you receive the award. 3. You must choose 5 people to receive the award after receiving it yourself. 4. You must fit the characteristics of the recipient of the award 5. You must post the characteristics of a recipient. 6. You must create a post sharing your win with others.
