And let the rejections begin!

ADVERTISEMENTS
Above the Law suggested lyrics for No Offer, No Cry (to the tune of Bob Marley's No Woman, No Cry):

No offer, no cry
No offer, no cry
Said - said - said: I remember when we used to sit
In the career services office in law school,
Observing the Biglaw hypocrites
As they would mingle with the good people we meet.
Classmates we have, oh, classmates we've lost
Along the way.
In 3L interviewing, you can't forget your past;
So dry your tears, I say.

Of course this ditty presumes that 3Ls get OCI interviews. I've been rejected out of the gate twice so far. No interview, no cry? I only applied for three firms that I thought I might like as much as I liked Summer Firm. Oh, and most of the firms that come to my school will only interview 2Ls. So that narrows the field a bit anyway. Two down, one to go I guess. And I might have been rejected simply because the firm only intended to interview 2Ls but didn't indicate that. It might not be personal. I know. Still.

No offer, no cry
No offer, no cry
Hey little 3L, don't shed no tears
No offer, no cry

I suppose I must start pounding the pavement or something. Summer firm will hopefully/ probably/maybe come through, but until they do, I really do need to act as if I don't have a job . . . because I don't.

Also, I applied for state level clerkships. We'll see.
