Grieving parents of a Metrolink Train Collision Victim, Aida Magdaleno, are filing a lawsuit against the company after the operator ran a red light at 42 miles an hour, crashing into a Union Pacific freight train.
The crash was devastating. It killed 25 people while another 138 were injured. On behalf of the parents, Juvenal and Leticia Magdaleno, Paul Kiesel filed a claim against Metrolink.
Keisel says, "The positive train control system would have prevented her death. It would have slowed the train down and taken the human element out of it."
The system he speaks of is rare due to the 2 billion dollar price tag, but it automatically overrides the errors made by railroad employees.
