: PrawfsThursday Afternoon Fun: The NYU Prof Quiz
By Dan Markel, Ethan Leib, Rick Garnett, Matt Bodie, Paul Horwitz , Steve Vladeck, and Orly Lobel
In the latest edition of "The Law School," NYU's magazine about itself, there is a "Professorial Pop Quiz." Thie quiz is based on fun facts about NYU faculty who joined the school between 2002 and 2008. You can find the Quiz on page 46 of the magazine, or on page 7 of this .pdf file. But I thought it'd be fun to share a few of the questions with the PrawfsBlawg crowd. Here are my favorites:
2. Who recently flew to Amsterdam to see Leonard Cohen in concert? Hint: Barack Obama used his textbook to teach his class at the University of Chicago.
7. This "walking encyclopedia" once grew a 1 1/2-pound tomato, studied chemical engineering, and switched to law after hearing Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia speak.
9. Who once lived on a commune in Woodstock, was on the Harvard Crimson, and worked as a reporter before earning her J.D. and a Ph.D in economics?
14. What Rhodes Scholar (who came to NYU from Columbia Law) played goalie and became captain of the Yale Varsity lacrosse team, winning MVP twice?
And finally . . .
27. Who ate in the White House kitchen during his childhood, and, before coming to NYU, had to find a new home for Reflector, his horse, as well as a brood of chickens?
Answers after the jump.
And . . .
27. PrawfsBlawg's own Rick Hills!
