Lawyer Marketing and the first annual Silver Cow Patty Award for Excellence in Country Lawyering

I'm definitely a social networking kind of attorney both online and offline for marketing purposes. This means along with a few select online social networking sites, I go to my local bar events(under 60 members), twice a year or so, make the occasional drop in visit on another business person, and tread water like crazy to smooth out the peaks and valleys of solo practice. Although I know what a press release is, what would I write? For immediate release: Theresa takes the day off to go fishing?

And, as the defender or transactional lawyer for the small guy or gal, it's unlikely they will find any of my "publications," seminars or awards. Many lawyers utilize what may or may not be psuedo awards in their marketing. Perhaps it's time for a mega "country lawyer" award or the "Big Cow Patty" award for the lawyer in Eastern Washington taking the most unwanted cases. I might win the cow patty for 2008. In fact, why not? I hereby award myself the 2008 Eastern Washington Silver Cow Patty award for excellence in country lawyering. Moo that.
