Great Paper from Junior Crim Prof Conference

By Dan Markel, Ethan Leib, Rick Garnett, Matt Bodie, Paul Horwitz , Steve Vladeck, and Orly Lobel

ADVERTISEMENTS

I had the good fortune to attend the Junior Crim Prof Conference last month at GW.  Several junior profs presented interesting papers.  All of the attendees were expected to have read the papers beforehand, and the majority of the conference was devoted to the comments on the papers (as opposed to the authors? summary of their work).  I thought that the format was fantastic, and I sincerely enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people in my field (and catch up with old friends).  The experience convinced me that conferences aimed at junior faculty are a wonderful idea, and I hope that all the junior profs out there have the opportunity to attend such a conference in their respective fields.

For those of you who are interest in criminal law and criminal procedure, but who weren?t able to attend the conference, one of my favorite papers from the conference --- Sonja Starr?s Sentence Reduction as a Remedy for Prosecutorial Misconduct --- is now up on SSRN.  Enjoy!!
