How can I Protect my Mac Computer?

By IBLS Editor

ADVERTISEMENTS

Recently I saw an article regarding the newest Mac OS X malware threat. There is now an Applescript trojan horse targeting Macs. Please refer to Brian Kreb's Security Fix/tech forums/178361. I would like to know HOW to go into my files and WHAT to look for so I know HOW to delete from my files/machine ANY files that have or change any Applescripts. I would like to be able to know how to identify malware, changes to my Applescripts, backdoor trojans, and rootkits targeting IMACS. Before I purchased an IMAC, my PC was hacked into for five straight years and even the authorities refused to help me because no crime was committed! Please HELP because I do not want my MAC computer hacked into! Also, if I do not open ANY questionable email or attachments, If I do not open any pop ups or touch them whatsoever on the screen and if I do not download any freeware can this applescript be downloaded into my computer? I have utilized every possible security measure except an anti-virus because applecare technicians state viruses are dismantled by Mac's OS X System as compared to that of Windows/Vista. I have a firewall, firmware protection, no file sharing, absolutely NO wireless capabilities, all and sharing is unchecked and prohibited, no bluetooth devices activated or infared devices enabled. With the help of the applecare technicians, I have had, to my knowledge, every front door, back door, side door and doggie door closed with regards to my mac computer's security. Will you please help?
