More on Stormhoek and the Orbital Wines Collapse : Stormhoek and Retailers not at Fault : Try the Stormhoek Pinotage

We return to Stormhoek once again. In response to our previous (2nd) posting on Stormhoek and the Orbital Wines collapse, Catherine Monahan wrote to us (published with permission):

"I used to work for Orbital wines doing marketing and sales.

Please retract that Tesco is responsible for any reasons for Orbital
losing listings or going into admin - this is Fundamentally untrue and
is causing grief for the Tesco team who have done nothing but support
the brand with great enthusiasm. The reports in the press are
inaccurate and we are currently working to fix these. Stormhoek also
was not to blame for Orbital' situation - the brand was 25% of the
business.

It is important to Catherine that neither Stormhoek nor the retailers are implicated in the current situation and we did not mean to give the impression that they were, so that we have resolved the matter amicably in the meantime through an exchange of emails and herewith correct any impression that we might have made that we are against Tesco.

Quite the contrary, we are quite on the side of Stormhoek, retailers like Tesco and Orbital Wines. As the Law Pundit wrote to her:

"I have nothing against Tesco, Sainsburys or Waitrose, nor against Stormhoek or Orbital Wines. It is just that Stormhoek is a famous case on the Internet for successful marketing by blogging - which I support greatly - so that we are simply curious to dig into why this collapse of Orbital happened and what it says about the blogging marketing campaign."

In this spirit we refer to the newest posting at the Pinotage Club blog, where Peter May urges us to drink Stormkhoek Pinotage:

"My thoughts are with everyone connected with Stormhoek -- ...

Trying to do my own little bit to help, I thought I should scoop up some Stormhoek Pinotages. It is unusual for a red, but I rather like their clear glass bottle (pictured above). But it is what is inside that counts."
