Wenn eine Gegend wirtschaftlich abzuschmieren droht, sollten Stadtplaner das As eines neuen Justizpalastes aus dem Ärmel ziehen:

It’s almost a small city. A micro economy that feeds dozens of businesses and vendors. One of the busiest courts in the state, the Franklin County Courthouse complex is a three-building spread that employs an estimated 3,350 people while annually welcoming more than one million people through its doors. [...]

County records indicate those lawsuits translated into more than 1.4 million visitors to just 369 and 373 S. High St. last year. It’s that kind of foot traffic that attracts hot dog stand vendors who say the courthouse is one of the best, and most sought-after gigs in town.

While it varies by day, vendors say they can earn as much as $120 or more during a busy a lunch shift.

The location is so good and in such demand that the city’s Department of Public Safety holds an auction every two weeks for the spot in front of the courthouse’s High Street entrance.
