Upset in Madison

There's Miss Wisconsin, Miss Wisconsin National Teenager, and other Misses.

In Madison, Wisconsin, there are allegations of Miss Appropriation. Madison's court administrator was arrested and charged with second degree official misconduct, third degree theft by deception, and fourth degree tampering with records.

We're not sure how many degrees there are, but this sounds like low-level stuff. These pageants can get pretty hardcore competitive -- we wonder whether there is any bad blood between the prosecutor and court administration? Even low-level indicates low-life when it comes to public servants, but prosecutors should keep their malice in check.

The prosecutor says the court administrator misappropriated over $2000 in funds for personal use over a period of two years. The court administrator is currently suspended with pay, pending an administrative hearing.

See Madison Court Administrator Arrested, Charged with Misconduct, Sally Capone, Madison Eagle (August 22, 2008). See also the purely aspirational NACM Model Code of Conduct. Stay tuned!
