: Legal Pad | LAAfter state high court ruling, more money going to fight against Prop. 8
By Jason Siegel

The San Jose Mercury News reports that same-sex marriage supporters raise $1.6 million since the May 15 ruling, nearly three times more than supporters of Prop. 8. However, opponents of Prop. 8 are only slightly ahead in funds raised overall - leading $2.6 million to $2.3 million. The Mercury News also reports that contributions supporting same-sex marriage are coming largely from Los Angeles County and San Francisco, while contributions to ban same-sex marriage are coming largely from San Diego and Orange counties.
