: Legal Pad | LAJudicial candidate Kermit Marsh violated campaign law 26 times
By Jason Siegel
One of the candidates for Orange County judge, facing a November runoff, has violated campaign law 26 times, the Orange County Register's political blog Total Buzz reported.
The violations by attorney and Westminster City Councilmember Kermit Marsh happened in his city council bid, as well as his unsuccessful campaigns for county supervisor and his current campaign for Superior Court Office No. 12, according to a blog.
Marsh paid $7,000 in fines for filing campaign-finance reports late on 21 different occasions since 2000.
Five campaign-finance reports are still due, including one due before the June election for the superior court seat.
Marsh hadn't been able to get the reports done himself and was looking to hire a treasurer to get it done, he told Total Buzz.
He finished second among four candidates in the election for seat No. 12, behind Deputy District Attorney Debra Carrillo.
