Lawyer of the week: Malcolm Swift

ADVERTISEMENTS
Malcolm Swift, QC, of Nine Lincoln's Inn Fields chambers, acted for Iain Davis, who was convicted of murder based on the evidence of anonymous witnesses. Five law lords ruled that he was denied a fair trial because of the anonymity of the witnesses and his lawyers being barred from asking them questions. The case has been referred back to the Court of Appeal to quash the conviction. The Government's Bill on anonymous witnesses is going through Parliament.
