Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), a nationally recognized academic health center, provides an clinical services, education and research opportunities. We are currently seeking an extraordinary individual to fill the patent counsel position that will be part of the Technology and Research Collaborations office.  This position works with the TRC staff and faculty to draft, file and prosecute patent applications based on university research. This will also include prior art searches and patentability opinions. The candidate will also coordinate and manage patent docketing, timekeeping as it relates to invention management.

Requirements:
Bachelors degree in life sciences field with (Masters or Doctoral degrees strongly preferred) and JD; admission to state bar and the US Patent and Trademark Office; broad knowledge in biological sciences and the patenting process; 4-6 years experience in a law firm, corporation or university with experience in drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications.

This position reports to OHSU's Director of Technology & Research Collaborations (or designee); In addition, the Patent Counsel also has a ?dotted line? report to the OHSU General Counsel.
