Heller Ehrman partner John Benassi joins Cooley

John_benassi Intellectual property litigator John Benassi joined Cooley Godward's San Diego office as a partner. (press release)

Benassi was previously at a partner at Heller Ehrman's San Diego office. Or as Cal Law's Legal Pad puts it, "Another day; another Heller Ehrman partner gone." Former Heller partner and IP litigator Jessica Wolff joined Cooley last week. More are expected to go and it's rumored that Heller is still pursuing a merger, Cal Law's Legal Pad reported (here).

Benassi will continue to focus on patent matters. He represents  technologies ranging from internet commerce to semiconductors, to medical devices and biotechnology.
