Sogar Leute, die keine Ahnung von WAMP oder LAMP- Paketen haben (so wie ich), bekommen die von Bitnami geschnürten Installationspakete von z.B. Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress, phpBB, moodle, MediaWiki usw. leicht auf den lokalen Rechner. In den Paketen ist die komplette Umgebung (also Apache, MySQL, PHP und das Skript) enthalten, alles wird nach der Installation in ein Verzeichnis kopiert und ist nach Start des Servers (alles einfach aus dem Startmenu von Windows aufzurufen) sofort betriebsbereit und lauffähig.
Man muss sich um fast nichts kümmern, ich habe das mal mit Drupal getestet, es klappt wunderbar.
