A Day in the Life

By Anne Skove, Esq.

ADVERTISEMENTS

The issue of judicial pay makes us wonder just what, after reading about a day (really, just part of a day) in the life of a juvenile court judge, an appropriate salary would be.

We've read Judge Lederman's many articles over the years (she is a frequent contributor to the annual Future Trends in State Courts). She is passionate about her difficult work.

See Painful Decisions in Juvenile Court, Cindy Lederman, All Things Considered (June 6, 2008), and think about what a fair annual salary for her might be. (From the NCSC Judicial Salary Resource Center's Florida information, it appears that the position is worth about $145K/year, no increase since 2006.)
