* Is the Lord Chief Justice going to do a Rowan Williams? Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers is giving a lecture at the London Muslim Centre, Whitechapel Road, next month. His topic is Equality in Justice — and is bound to touch on controversial areas that provoked such a furore when the Archbishop of Canterbury gave his lecture this year on Islam and the law as part of the Temple Festival. Lord Phillips is more used to weighing his words and will be more cautious, given the drubbing that Dr Williams received over his lecture.
