This just in: The California Supreme Court denied requests to stay its same-sex marriage decision until after the November election, when California voters will have the chance to weigh in on the same issue in a ballot initiative. The court also declined to rehear the case.
The court also said its ruling would become final on June 16th at 5 p.m.

Does the decision mean we should expect an onslaught of same-sex marriages in the state? Perhaps not, a Journal story this morning suggests. Mylene Mangalindan reported that hotel chains, small inns and other wedding venues have seen a surprisingly small number of gay-wedding reservations. The presumption was that couples were concerned about the upcoming November referendum.
