Children’s storage bins sold at Lowe’s stores recalled because of lead poisoning risk

Surface paint on the recalled bins may contain excessive lead levels

On May 1, 2008, Lowe’s stores and L G Sourcing Inc. recalled about 84,000 children’s storage bins after finding they may contain excessive levels of lead, posing a lead poisoning hazard.

Recalled storage bins are wooden and sold in pastel green or pink. Item number ?226782? or ?226781? is printed on the bottom of children’s storage bins included in the recall. Lowe’s retail stores sold the recalled L G Sourcing children’s storage bins from March 2007 through February 2008 for about $6.

Consumers who own a recalled Lowe’s storage bin should immediately take it away from children and return them to any Lowe’s store for a refund. For more information, customers may also contact L G Sourcing at 1-866-493-6563, or visit the Lowe’s website.
