New LBA Theme Until Futher Announcement a/k/a, The Bar Exam Is Over

By "Daisy Duke"

ADVERTISEMENTS
Today was the first day of Bar/Bri, which is the incredibly expensive bar prep course for all newbie law school graduates (or the unlucky few re-cycling back through after a failed attempt or many...) to learn all the things about the law that they clearly missed in their three years of law school. Namely, all of it. My $150,000 of student loans are clearly worthless because now I am being forced to fill out outlines and a mind-numbing rate of speed in order to learn everything I didn't learn, which according to the Board of Bar Examiners is everything related to the law.

Um. Yes. So now my daily schedule will be: Bar/Bri, the Gym (Ahem, it is the Fitness Summer of 2008! And BISMOW loves all of my new healthy recipes! Or at least he'd better pretend to! Or he can cook!) And this leaves me with little to blog about. So for now the theme of the blog will be:

- Observations While in Bar/Bri
- Daisy's View On the Daily Subject Matter

Observation:

Hypothetically speaking, if you and Anonymous Hottie both give each other a quizzical look over something the live-feed-video professor said, do not then assume AH is raising her hand to ask a question. Mostly because it is a video professor and most likely she is just fixing her hair. But she will certainly be amused by the look of horror on your face as you contemplate why on earth she's raising her hand to ask the TV screen a question.

The guy who turned his laptop on hibernate and slept for 20 minutes during Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress might have found a decent "plan B" for the time spent in Bar/Bri.

Running into the Ex (the Fiance' of BCF) was in a word, awesome. Except not really. We both started bickering with each other within two seconds of running into each other was futher affirmation that ending things a long time ago was the best decision. And that BISMOW is the greatest guy ever. But thats more sappy than, um, you know, an observation.

Daisy's Synopsis of Torts:

Duty, Breach, Causation, Damages. Plaintiff's Attorney takes 1/3 fee and buys new Bentley.

(Ok not really but considering I worked in the torts arena at BPLF for um you know, the last year of my life, with no vacations or minutes to so much as breathe or study for my finals, I think I've got this one covered. Which is awesome because it is 34 multiple choice questions. But it was still so boring I contemplated poking my eye out with my felt tip pen.)

Tomorrow, torts round two. I'm sure I'll come up with something scintillating to say. In the meantime I have to forward the email I received today entitled "Your Significant Other and the Bar Exam" to BISMOW if for no other reason than some comedic value. And to remind him that even during the Fitness Summer of 2008 if I demand ice cream, these demands will be met. The Bar Exam Gods require it.
