Presentation, Drive, New York City, and Excited

ADVERTISEMENTS
The trip to Cape Breton went well. I was giving a presentation to high school students in Eskasoni about the Indigenous Black and Mi?kmaw Initiative, as well as law school in general, and of course, Dalhousie Law School in particular. I obviously did this voluntarily, but did receive a nice appreciation present before I left.

I stopped in my home reserve twice while in Cape Breton; on my way to Sydney and on my way back to Halifax. I think driving over five hours in one day was the longest that I ever drove.

Speaking of long driving, I am off to New York City later on today. We are going to visit one of Clint?s friends who served in the military with him (I referred to him back in my October 15, 2007 blog entry). This is definitely exciting. I am taking the train first down to Truro, as I have not been on a train since October of either 1990 or 1991 when I went from Federation to Orangedale with my grandmother. The trip was like 16 hours, but incredible. Another confession is that I have always loved trains growing up, and am a bit sad that the train no longer goes from Orangedale to Halifax any more. I hope to be back sometime Sunday.

Graduation is next Friday. I can?t express how excited that I am about it.
