2008 Honda Ridgelines recalled because of manufacturing error

Hood support rod may fail to hold hood in position

On December 10, 2007, American Motor Honda Company recalled 2008 Honda Ridgelines because the hole in the sheet metal that is the base for the hood support rod was not punched to specification. This could result in the support rod failing to hold the hood in position because of insufficient strength, meaning the hood can fall and cause catastrophic injury.

Honda dealers said they will inspect the support rod base hole and install reinforcement parts if necessary. Owners may contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009.
