: Mike Conaway's BlogSan Angelo Regional Airport Receives DOT Grant
The U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration announced that San Angelo Mathis Field Regional Airport has received a grant in the amount of $3,000,000. This grant will provide funds to rehabilitate the air carrier apron to extend the useful life of the pavement.
Aircraft safety on the ground is equally as important as aircraft safety in the skies. Congress recognizes the need for reconstruction to keep our runways, aircrafts, and visitors coming to and from San Angelo Mathis Field safe. It is grants such as this that allow Mathis Field to continue to thrive, and I applaud the DOT and FAA for granting these funds.
For more information on the Department of Transportation/Federal Aviation Administration grants for Airport Planning and Development please visit their website at http://www.faa.gov/airports_airtraffic/airports/aip/. -Mike
