: My Memphis Attorney! Its About The Money
By attorneydavid
Sure the various assorted characters I deal with, the freedom, getting to hear myself talk are fun, but at the end of the day this is about making money as pleasantly as possible.
Its not accepted to say that in the law and to some extent the medical profession. (though from the doctors I deal with that is changing to a frank realization that making a living is important).
At least I say it.
I provide a service in getting you away from your drunk abusing child molesting evildoer of a spouse or making the deadbeat pay money or keeping the evil ex from interfering with your relationship. I get paid for it. You have alot of options in selecting a lawyer. You can negotiate the contract. There are very fews areas of commerce as open to negotiation as legal services. Try negotiating a warranty at the grocery store or even a car. Lawyers will negotiate alot of cases, if you appear mentally unbalanced there is almost always some level of cleared retain cash at which we will deal with you. Life involves tough choices, maybe your kids aren't worth $20,000. Being honest with yourself is the first step to avoid wasting $10,000.
Most of the horror stories I've heard begin with a lawyer trying to commisserate with them and glossing over fees.
I do pro bono, donate, and hire the disabled. I enjoy my job.
But this is not a charity and when you have a recent immigrant canvas their family to pay you then no one else has any excuses.
I got lucky in the brains gene pool, but I earn the money and I assure you this is a real job.
