: The Mighty ArgosRe-Stowin' the Hold
I know I missed International Talk Like a Pirate Day, but, you know, I was a little busy. Driving over the Grapevine, piling all our stuff into our new place, helping the cats exorcise the air monkeys, you know how it is.
San Diego, on first blush, appears to be a pretty cool place. If I had to compare it to anywhere else I guess I'd have to say it's kindof the bastard love child of L.A. and Santa Cruz. But what do I know? I've been here, what, a whole day?
If you're really interested, you can see a couple of pics of the exterior of our new place on my flickr. I'll post some of the inside once we have some semblance of furniture placement in here. We were in the bizarre position of having, like, 3 or 4 places offer us housing, which was nice, but unexpected. We've not had trouble finding a place to rent since Santa Cruz, but that scarred us so that we always expect it to be impossible. We were offered this lovely house across the street from Balboa Park, but it was too expensive so we had to settle for a pretty nice townhousey condo in condoland. Not ideal, but it's close to campus for Monica, and it's close to a Whole Foods (now a prerequisite for us), and it fits all our stuff (more or less), and it's pretty cute. We'll miss the ginormous yard, though. More to come.
