Tiny Claims

ADVERTISEMENTS
My two years at Small Claims Court taught me a lot. Mostly, that people are stupid. All that nonsense you see on The People's Court is real. Real people are really like that. Every day. Anyway, the only difference between small claims on teevee and real life is the judges, who aren't personalities and aren't funny, and don't try to teach the audience any sort of "life lessons" or some bullshit. Instead, they are professionals. Which is no mean feat, because, see above re: people are stupid. Which brings me to my point. No doubt you've seen the Chad Vader thing, which, whatever, was funny when Eddie Izzard thought of it (more or less). But those guys also do "McCourt's in Session," which is a) hilarious, and b) an excellent representation of what I'd be like if I had to be a pro tem for a day.

I was also going to post my opinion on the whole Hobbit fiasco, and all the interesting copyright implications, but then I saw it in Entertainment Weekly, and once it's in EW, you know it's way to late to blog about it. (Sorry, I don't make the rules.) So, nevermind. So, yes, this is just another Youtube-link-post. Oh, god, I've become a Youtube-link-blogger. Crap.
