But Will We Still Go Blind?

Jim Burroway has an amusing article at Box Turtle Bulletin about a new study that apparently shows that masturbation helps prevent prostate cancer. He contrasts that with the profoundly silly anti-masturbation position of ex-gay fraud John Smid. Smid has long been the director of Love in Action, an ex-gay residential program that preaches some of the dumbest things you've ever heard of. Like this, taken from a speech Smid gave at a conference last year, where he cites a conversation with an unnamed Brazilian doctor claiming that doctors are covering up the "fact" that masturbation weakens the immune system:
