Are accountants’ fees set to fall?

The collapse of Arthur Andersen in the wake of the Enron scandal demonstrated the impact litigation could have on large accountancy firms. The Companies Act, which received Royal Assent on November 8, gives auditors the ability to limit their liability to clients. Now, under a change in the law this month, companies can agree a cap on their auditors’ liability for the first time.
