: Larry Bodine's LawMarketing BlogLaw Firm Marketing: How Blogs Generate More Leads for Lawyers
By Larry Bodine
The more frequently lawyers update their blogs, the more client leads they'll get, more quickly -- according to marketer Stephen Fairley speaking this week on a Nolo.com webinar.
There are only 5,800 lawyer blogs and they offer "a huge opportunity for lawyers," Fairley said. However, to generate leads:
- You need to have 50-55 posts online first.
- You must update your blog 3-5 times a week. "The frequency of your blog posts correlates directly to the number of leads you get," he said.
- Frequent posting will improve your search engine ranking.
- It also improves your status as an expert in your field.
- You'll get 88% more leads from consumers if you blog (as opposed to not blogging)and 67% more leads from businesses if you blog.
- Always offer a 'freemium' – a free DVD, audio, special report, or other item of value to potential clients, something more than a free consultation.
- Give away the freemium in exchange for the visitor's name, email and phone, and follow up with a monthly newsletter.
- Tip: plaintiff personal injury lawyers should blog about traffic accidents. "People will say I went online and found information about my accident by reading about it on your blog," he said.
- Promote your blog with the five-step "rainmaker social media blueprint" shown below."
