They keep finding

all sorts of exciting new radiation locations at the plant. Now it is water in a trench somewhere close to Unit 2 (Kyodonews article). They say they can’t check the equivalent trench at Unit 3 because it is “hard to get there”.

I wonder how long this level of incompetence is supposed to be tolerated. If they can’t even check the radiation at their own plant, it is really way past time to bring some people in who actually can.

The Americans also have a 450-member radiation unit and have considered sending them to the site. I think right about now would be an excellent time to actually do so. And while they are at it, they might as well get a couple of “Fuchs” vehicles on site from the Bundeswehr.
