: Media LawLooking for Office Space? Site Helps Lawyers Find It
By Robert Ambrogi
A relatively new website functions as an office-space matchmaker for the legal profession, pairing law firms that have space to sublet with solo and small-firm lawyers who need to obtain an office. The site, LookingForSpace.com, is exclusively devoted to office space for lawyers and aims to develop a national database of listings. So far, it has listings for 20 major metropolitan markets in 14 states and the District of Columbia.
There is no charge to view the site’s listings. Currently, there is also no charge to post a listing, except for listings in Manhattan, which cost $75 a month. The site charges no commissions or other fees. It accepts listings only for office space that is a sublease from a law firm or that was built for the purpose of housing a law firm.
Each listing provides full details on the space, along with photographs. Listings include a description of the space, the square footage and a list of office features. They also provides the address and the name of the firm or company leasing the space.
Solo and small firm lawyers in need of a single office or a small number of offices are the types of lessees most likely to find this site useful. For lessors, firms of any size that have unused office space can take advantage of the site’s free listings to put the space to productive use.
