Another Peppermint Tea Brand Recalled in Canada

Another tea brand has been added to the recall of organic peppermint herbal tea that may be contaminated with Salmonella. 
First announced March 7, in the United States, the recall involves tea produced by Aromatics Inc. of Basin City, WA. It has involved tea retailed by the Atlanta-based Teavana chain, RemedyTeas in Seattle and Metropolitan Tea Co. in Canada. Now the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume David's Tea peppermint tea.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products
The recalled David's Tea, which was distributed nationally in Canada, includes:
-- Peppermint Amour (Organic) Herb Tea, Lookup Code: 2000108000000, 500g, 7 71541, 48051 3, L102334 L102346 (Code located at top right corner of label)
-- Organic Peppermint Amour, variable weight (from bulk tea), codes beginning with 2 000108
-- Organic Peppermint Amour, 50g and 100g, sold via the Internet, code beginning with 2 000108
Some of these organic teas may have been sold from bulk and/or repackaged into smaller sized units with no label information. Consumers who have purchased organic peppermint teas, and are unsure if they have the recalled product, should check with the place of purchase to verify if it is subject to the recall.
In a news release, the CFIA said it is working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to identify all affected products imported into Canada from the USA. The CFIA is also working with Canadian importers to trace-back and recall all affected products that may have been distributed in Canada. As more products are identified, the CFIA said it will continue to update its list of recalled products.
