: FinancialCounselEccleston Law Actively Seeking Investors Who Suffered Losses with Jason Bo-Alan Beckman of Plymouth, MN for his Role in a $194 Million Currency Trading Scheme
By James Eccleston
The attorneys at Eccleston Law are investigating Jason ?Bo-Alan? Beckman (aka ?Bo Beckman?) of Plymouth, Minnesota for his role in raising over $47 million from at least 143 investors who invested in the $194 Ponzi scheme perpetrated by Trevor Cook of Apple Valley, Minnesota. Jason Beckman and Trevor Cook were both partners in Minneapolis-based Oxford Global Advisors, a firm which promoted investments in foreign currencies. There are believed to be more than 1,000 investors in this Ponzi scheme. Our attorneys are actively seeking to speak with investors who may have been victimized by this fraud.
From at least 2006 through July 2009, for his part of the larger $194 million Ponzi scheme, Beckman allegedly raised at least $47.3 million (approximately 25% of the funds in the fraud) from at least 143 investors through a series of fraudulent, unregistered offering of investments in a purported foreign currency trading venture. Beckman is believed to have solicited clients of the Oxford Private Client Group to invest in the scheme.
In order to induce investors to invest in the Ponzi scheme, Beckman allegedly represented to investors that there was little or no risk to their investment, that they would receive guaranteed returns of up to 12% per year, and that they could redeem their investment at any time. These representations were all false.
In fact, Beckman failed to invest a significant portion of the investor?s money and used the funds from more recent investors to make principal and interest payments to earlier investors, in a classic Ponzi scheme manner. Beckman and his wife, Hollie Beckman, are also believed to have used investor money to support their extravagant lifestyle, which included among other things million dollar homes, expensive luxury cars, foreign travel, and country club memberships.
To prevent any further harm to investors, the SEC recently obtained an emergency court order to freeze the assets of Jason and Hollie Beckman, who are believed to have received at least $7.7 million in investor funds that may have been diverted to their personal accounts.
