Does not that headline really say enough?

Exxon Mobile Corp reported second-quarter earnings of $11.68 billion.

It is the largest quarterly profit really in World history.

But, what is really the icing on the cake is that these gargantuan earnings fell short of Wall Streets expectations and so despite this embarrassment of wealth, the company's stock actually fell on this news.  It does leave one to ponder just how freakin' detached Wall Street really is from everyday America where they find the largest profits ever, and an obscene amount of money for just a three month period of time, is a disappointment.  In other words, the American people were raped but, doggonit, Exxon just did not rape us enough.

It is important to note that almost every dime of this money came out of our pockets.  It is jeopardizing our futures, especially for commuters, both financially and environmentally.

The sad thing?  I have an Exxon Mobile card.
