Yet Another Vote to Raise Taxes…

ADVERTISEMENTS

Once again the Democrat-controlled House has scheduled a vote to implement a heavy tax on America’s gasoline and petroleum producers. Tomorrow, the House will force a vote to implement a tax increase on domestic energy production, lowering the value of millions of Americans? retirement funds and undermining the energy industry. At a time when our country is showing signs of a slowing economy, legislation such as this is the last thing that we need. We must focus this debate on finding renewable sources of energy and trusting the oil and gas industry to be a big part of the discussion, as they have long been a reliable and abundance source of our nation’s energy. The costs of these new taxes will ultimately be passed on to the American consumer by way of higher pump prices. Mike will comment more in-depth on this damaging legislation tomorrow following the vote on the House floor. -Anna Koch, Press Secretary to Rep. Conaway
