: Sunlight FoundationTom DeLay gets three years in prison
By Paul Blumenthal
Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay was just sentenced to three years in prison. DeLay was found guilty of laundering money and conspiracy in a scheme to influence the apportionment of congressional seats in his home state of Texas.
According to the Austin Statesman:
The three-year sentence was on the charge of conspiring to launder corporate money into political donations during the 2002 elections. On the charge of money laundering, DeLay was sentenced to five years but that was probated for 10 years.More to come soon. Here's a post I wrote last month when DeLay was found guilty.
