The U.S, Consumer Product Safety Commission Updates

By Amber Wheat (index)

The new products on the September 2008 recall list include an Aqua Lung scuba regulator and adapter, Protocol remote controlled helicopter toys, J.C Penny rugs, PB Heat gas boilers. If you have any of these products please stop using them immediately and check out the websites to find out what you need to do.

I recommend regular updates on the CPSC. If you add it to your favorites in your internet browser and just check once a month, you can keep yourself and your family safe. If an accident does occur with a product and the company is able to point out that they voluntarily recalled that item before you were hurt, it could damage your case. The companies are responsible for getting word out that the product is dangerous, but they are not expected to contact each and every possible customer because that would be a great hardship.

It is always up to you to protect yourself first and foremost. It is always better to be safe than sorry so take some time out of your day every so often and check out the recalled products. The CPSC keeps an archive of past recalls and it is easy to search the site by product type.
